LED Lantern
After having the opportunity to play around with NeoPixels, I wanted to put together a little project where I utilized them in a pleasing way. It was super interesting to work with LED's and acrylic to see how light would bounce most effectively, giving myself a small introduction into optics design. With some mahogany wood and spare pieces of acrylic lying around I decided to make a LED lantern!
Microcontroller
I used a Adafruit Trinket 5V Logic microcontroller to program the LED routines
Lantern Design
Without a laser cutter to neatly etch a design onto the acrylic, I printed the design onto paper and placed it over the acrylic, using a rotary tool to etch out the lines.
